Upgrades will give you a boosts in specific stats. Each upgrade boosts the level of an item by 3. Each upgrade also increases a random substat.

The upgraded gear typically has a higher trade value regardless of whether it has low requirements (like the FB shield of the sorc) or a very high stat variance (like Eth titan weapons). The latter are less valuable from upgrading due to the need to roll for a perfect model.

Recycle Points

The item level upgrade upgrader enables players to upgrade their gear to a higher item upgrades level by providing the appropriate currency to the NPC. They are purchased by players from NPCs that sell upgrades to items in exchange for a variety of currencies, and can be found in random treasure lists. Once an upgrade has been purchased, it can be applied to any weapon, tool, or armor with the help of button, which will show an item's preview when it is upgraded in the event that the player has enough materials.

The upgrade cost depends on the item level upgrade slot and current item level and the weapon's price is higher than bracers or gloves, for example.
